hail in the air apparent

I think therefore I am
what I think I am
I think
everything but the kitchen’s sink
I think I am
yes I can
the only thing I think
I’m not is you
because I’m a subtler skew
to see through

the narcissist’s
storied vanity nightlight
the blinder leading to hindsight
to misinterpretations applied
with the winder to a side
of fries and a shake
from that deftly rattling snake

the angel of enlighten-mints
a kingdom con convinced
shooting to star
so far
till eyes crossed in the no holds bar
you can bring a horse to fodder
but you can’t make it think
for its own prancing slink

but a fool and his words are soon parted
so let’s get this party started
strutting and
preening obfuscating a meaning

living low in high rent
billable by the syllable
so much has been spent
fishing to ferment
and stealthily circumvent
a tenacity vs veracity
adorn the adored dis-content
hail in the air apparent

so put on your make up as you go along
singing for the same ol sing song throng
yes we cant compassion in fashion
babble on Babylon

Poetic Sojourn

About Scott Schoffstall

I'm a relatively new poet having started in earnest 11/2010. I have sought the authentic and am still on that quest. I've diverged from the norm yet always reached for the universal. My interests were always beyond the here and now. Beyond the taste, touch, smell, hear, see. Where the mind and the spirit transcend the physical. They say perception is reality. Is it? Are we truly all there is?
