clique online
the mind blind
bits and pieces entwine
strategically aligned
fully automatic glam

share it
while something of merit
remains ignored
by ones who scored
with networked
knee jerk indoctrinated
attention defecated
reality fatality

obfuscation strikes
consumed by the likes
of those
who would transpose
a weed for a rose
walling you in
a popularity prison
goosin in unisin

scroll down that hole
tid bit mole
scene of a
tit for tat combat
and a whipped latte nonfat
fussed at
down pat
for a trailin the herd cowpat

posing free radicals
fresh from Caribbean sabbaticals
with the same ol new
you do voodoo
sticking pins in your ears
spellin old fears
of being excepted
wanton genuflected
fill til shrill
s’all downhill
cept it’s not
put frog in pot
trouble and toil
bring to slow boil

try their trick prick up your ass
with a little molass
a chameleonic colonic
the ol new age tonic
fresh from the cafeteria criteria
spreadin like bacteria

but it don’t take much
already a crutch
pushin happy pill misery
loves company
workin a chew bone
of inadequacies
barkin Pavlov’s
dogmatic anti-conforming
conformity deformities
for beatific wannabes

type the hype
task force political
mission hypocritical
anything will queer
paraded as freer
a colluded veneer
inventing labels to smear
if you don’t adhere
selling it on the block
of a postulate auctioneer

get it in gear
or you’ll adhere
to the page of the next puppeteer

Poetic Sojourn

About Scott Schoffstall

I'm a relatively new poet having started in earnest 11/2010. I have sought the authentic and am still on that quest. I've diverged from the norm yet always reached for the universal. My interests were always beyond the here and now. Beyond the taste, touch, smell, hear, see. Where the mind and the spirit transcend the physical. They say perception is reality. Is it? Are we truly all there is?
