Psychedelic Tsunami

it’s a glimmer of a far horizon that longs for a distant shore

waves of fever awash
focus blurs, glistens and blurs again
lines of rigidity wobble, flow
the senses conspire
beguile, entice
they immerse, seethe, whelm continuously
peptides wax
synapse suffuse
flood and confuse
perception becomes reality and reality transfigures
eternal awareness
otherworldly communions teach
mystify, bemuse
patterns undulate and swell
through eddies of color
time lingers
the now prolonged
indefinitely
space streams, refracts
dilates
the inanimate breathes to life
shapes, light, colors explode into
a theatre of visions
phantasmagoria
euphoria
sound waves lick, swirl, consummate
in orgasmic aural liquid fusion
whispers beckon
meaning infusing everything
brought on by the raging torrent of the senses
one relinquishes preconceptions
channeling revelation
emotions heighten to awe
epiphany!
one with the infinite
unperceived, time crests
and ebbs from the sands of the infinite
conjunction of this elusive dualism wanes
and the tide of capacity recedes
with a refluent evanescence,
the crestfallen spirit
subsides

self resumes
longing

About Scott Schoffstall

I'm a relatively new poet having started in earnest 11/2010. I have sought the authentic and am still on that quest. I've diverged from the norm yet always reached for the universal. My interests were always beyond the here and now. Beyond the taste, touch, smell, hear, see. Where the mind and the spirit transcend the physical. They say perception is reality. Is it? Are we truly all there is?
